Bioprocess Engineering Laboratory was established in 2012 alongside the establishment of the Faculty of Food Technology and Agroindustry. The Bioprocess Engineering Laboratory facilitates educational activities such as practicum and research activities for the faculty members. The Bioprocess Engineering Laboratory focuses on the application of principles and concepts of chemistry, physics, and engineering, particularly in the handling, processing, and distribution of agricultural products while still prioritizes the conservation and conversion of agricultural products. This laboratory also actively enganged in the research related to postharvest equipment design and food processing, development, operation, and processing of agricultural products. Laboratory works carried out such as Unit Operations, Drying and Cooling Techniques, Agricultural Product Processing Techniques, Agricultural Product Engineering Characteristics, and Bioprocess Engineering II.
Laboratory Services
The Bioprocess Engineering Laboratory provides several services, including :
- Supporting practical activities, especially in Unit Operations, Drying and Cooling Techniques, Heat Transfer, Agricultural Product Engineering Properties, and Agricultural Product Processing Techniques
- Supporting research activities for both students and lecturers in providing facilities and infrastructure, especially those related to the fields of study of Drying and Cooling Techniques, Heat Transfer, Agricultural Product Processing Techniques, Bioreactor Engineering, Processing Unit Planning, Bioseparation Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering II, Agricultural Product Engineering Characteristics, Packaging and Storage Techniques
- Assisting the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which includes education, research, and community service related to laboratories based on applicable laboratory provisions
